how to find your writing purpose

When I started my journey, I had to take a moment to commit myself to a mission: What am I trying to accomplish? And more importantly, what do I want you, the reader, to feel after reading a book that I have written?

I began to reflect on the trials and tribulations I have experienced throughout my life. I emerged from each one stronger, more self-assured, and wiser. I wanted to incorporate those experiences into my writing. In doing so, I focused on these themes:

  • Resilience

  • Self-Discovery

  • Identity

And there you have it. I’ve taken my life lessons and crafted my mission: inspire, transform, and uplift. If my work hasn’t done those three things, I’ve missed the mark.

Wherever you encounter my writing, whether through publications, newsletters, websites, or social platforms, I strive for my purpose to shine through.

Finding Your Purpose as a Writer

If you are searching for your purpose, start with yourself:

  • What are your struggles?

  • What are your victories?

  • What change have you longed to see in the world?

  • What gifts do you want to give to your reader?

Answer those questions, and you’ll find inspiration in your own journey. Your path is on purpose. It is not a mistake. It’s giving you everything you need to become everything you are.

My Commitment

At the end of the day, my purpose is to use fictional storytelling to encourage the reader so deeply that you become relentless in pursuing who you are meant to be.

I know it’s a lofty goal—but it is my mission, and I have made the choice to accept it.
